Red Snapper Inn, is the real thing !
Everything is fresh and taste great.
For a starter, we went with the jalapeño poppers
The fried jalapeños were stuffed with crab meat and were cooked to perfection!
For the main course, I went with the fried shrimp, baked potato and green salad. Fresh baked bread was served too.
Service was excellent and and the serving sizes are large.
You will not leave hungry
When in Freeport / Surfside , go and try the Red Snapper Inn.

At a friend's recommendation, we tried the Red Snapper Inn on Saturday, 6/15/19. We were very disappointed in the quality of the food. The crab florentine had a minimal amount of crab and was so greasy that my daughter couldn't eat it. The snapper opelousas was too spicy to eat and the sauce overwhelmed the taste of the fish. The seafood gumbo was awful, with thick gummy paste. The flour hadn't been properly blended in and the seafood gumbo was served lukewarm. The snapper greque was okay, but needed seasoning. The vegetable of the day was a skimpy serving of canned peas - yuck! To top it off, at the end of our meal, we observed a huge cockroach crawling on the wall next to our table. We also got an unexpected 18% tip added to our check.
On a positive note, the greek salad and french bread were fine. Our waitress was nice and answered questions about dinner options. -

2 kids and husband ordered snapper opalalusa... burnt and not edible. 2 kids ordered stuffed flounder... burnt and not edible. I ordered crab Florentine.... mush in a bowl not edible. Service was terrible. Waitress wrote in $42 tip on my credit card slip. Nowhere on the menu or posted in restaurant does it say parties of 6 are charged 18% gratuity. Waitress definitely didn't deserve $42 tip and the fact she wrote it in on my slip is absurd.
This place used to have great fish but something has changed because it is terrible now. Don't eat here! -

Great and quick service, homey feel with nautical decorations over every wall. And the largest mounted sailfish I have ever seen, unsure if it's real or fake. They finally do accept credit cards (used to be cash only but now cards)!
We arrived early for dinner at 5:30 on a weeknight and our party of 7 was immediately seated. When we left at 6:30 half of the place was full. Dinner started with complimentary warm bread, partially sliced so you can rip it apart at the table. A few of us ordered a cup of the seafood gumbo to start and were satisfied with it. All the entree portions were large, so those who did order the gumbo could not finish the rest of the meal (leftovers of a side and some fish). At a place called Red Snapper Inn you have to try the snapper, and there are 5-6 preparations with different seasonings. The Blackened approach uses Cajun seasonings, very flavorful and I recommend. It also looks appealing. One of us ordered the grilled method, which had limited seasoning, some butter and garlic and lemon, which let the taste of the snapper come through more prominently (but visually didn't look as appetizing). The Greek salad is a full plate salad with a vinaigrette on it already mixed in. It was healthy and tasty, and I especially loved the crumbles of feta cheese. They surprisingly combined very well with the Cajun seasoning from the blackened snapper. -

Great find! Very fresh food. Had one of the best snapper dishes I've ever eaten. Highly recommend.
